Ex-Virginville Firefighter Charged In Windsor Township Arson
State police said Thursday that they charged a former Virginville Fire Company volunteer with arson for setting fire to a garage in 2008. Kellen D. Klee, 23, Hamburg, set fire to the exterior of a garage attached to a house at 279 Schappell Road in Windsor Township on July 22, 2008, investigators said. He used a flammable liquid to start the fire shortly after 4 a.m. and then called 9-1-1, according to Trooper Michael J. Yeity, a state police fire investigator.
Klee had his firefighting gear with him and assisted other volunteers who arrived to extinguish the blaze.
Yeity did not say how the case was solved or why the investigation took more than four years.
Klee was arraigned before District Judge Kim L. Bagenstose and remained free awaiting further court action.
He is no longer a volunteer firefighter.
