Firefighter Injured In South Side Blaze
United States (Illinois) - A firefighter was injured in a fire that broke out this afternoon at a South Side building in the city's Englewood neighborhood. The fire started shortly after 2 p.m. at a building located at 6231 S. Racine Avenue, according to Fire Media information.

The fire was on the first and second floor of the structure and eventually spread to the 1 and 1/2 story frame building next door, officials said.

A firefighter suffered a knee injury and was taken in serious-to-fair condition to Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers in Evergreen Park, officials said.

As of 2:40 p.m., the fire was struck out but firefighters remained on the scene.
