United States (Virginia) - A Roanoke County man is charged with raping a girl under the age of 15. According to court records, Roland Lee Reynolds, 33, was arrested Dec. 3, in relation to the sexual abuse of a 13- or 14-year-old girl that occurred on Dec. 2.

He is charged with rape, taking indecent liberties with a child, aggravated sexual battery, forcible sodomy and sexual penetration with an animate object by force or threat. He is also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Reynolds is also charged with public swearing and intoxication in relation to a Dec. 2 incident.

Until March, Reynolds was a firefighter who worked in city, for Roanoke Fire-EMS, according to department spokeswoman Tiffany Bradbury. She could not provide any reasons for his departure.

Reynolds is being held in the Roanoke County Salem Jail.
