Firetrucks Collide In New York City
United States (New York) - Four New York City firefighters suffered serious injuries Wednesday when two firetrucks crashed in Brooklyn, officials said. The collision just before 8 a.m. in the Canarsie neighborhood also left another seven firefighters with less serious injuries, the New York Post reported. One truck crashed into a house wall, breaking several windows in a two-family house, but no civilians were hurt.

"I heard the tires screeching and I quickly looked out the window and saw the truck coming toward the house," said Cecil Lowe, 65, who lives on the second floor. "It was very frightening."

The other truck struck a parked taxi.

None of the firefighters had life-threatening injuries, a Fire Department spokesman said.
