Smoke rose above the NYC skyline as an electrical fire atop Trump Tower sent Manhattan fire crews scrambling to put out the flames.

The 64th tallest building in New York City became the focus of the FDNY after a call was placed at around 7:30 Monday morning concerning a one-alarm fire.

“FDNYalerts MAN 7-5 721 5 AVE, MULTIPLE DWELLING (TRUMP TOWER) FIRE IN HVAC , LOCATED ON ROOF, UNDER CONTROL,” the FDNY’s Twitter account reported.

“There was a small electrical fire in a cooling tower on the roof of Trump Tower,” the Trump Organization said in an emailed statement to The Washington Post. “The FDNY were here within minutes and did an exceptional job. Everything is under control and no evacuations were made.”

According to The Washington Post, the 45th President of the United States was not at the tower, but in Washington DC, as per his public schedule.

Authorities report the fire was related to the building’s HVAC system.
